Developing a Powertrain for the Future
SHU Racing further developing its Electric car
This year SHU Racing welcomes an exciting new addition to the team with the creation of our first Electric Vehicle (EV) team. The team, led by Elijah Santos, is currently working on the development of an EV car to compete alongside the ICE car at Silverstone which will be entered into the concept class of the competition. This means that the car will be put through its paces in the static events to put the Design, Cost and Sustainability, and Business case to the test but without the requirement to build the vehicle allowing an extra years development to be undertaken.
Electrification is of great interest within the current climate and is something we are very excited to pursue. The teams focus this year is the design of the electric powertrain and the testing of the key components. From there we hope to be able to fully build and enter the car as a class 1 entry within the next couple of years.
There is lot to learn for us within the EV team however we are all excited for this new challenge and hope to build a great foundation for the team to become a great contender.

Meet the Team
Meet the Team is an opportunity for us to give you a chance to learn a little more about the people who make up SHU Racing. This week, we welcome our new Chassis and Vehicle Integration manager, Jack Holmes. Jack is in charge of the chassis being developed for this years car as well as the full CAD model and assembly of this years car.
